Why will Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif not perform together?

Well, it has nothing to do with the duo’s personal equation! The once-upon-a-time lovers will no longer perform together at the 100 Years of Indian Cinema Concert and Awards in Chicago as the show has been now cancelled

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were to shake a leg at the event which was scheduled for September but the show has been called off at the last minute. Apparently, Sallu’s entire work schedule went haywire since his UK visa got delayed. And now that theDabangg actor will finally start shooting for his film Kick, we hear he won’t be able to squeeze in some time for the concert. On the other hand, Kat is been keeping busy coz of her numerous endorsement deals and is constantly travelling in India and overseas for her AD shoots. In fact, the other celebs who were to perform along with the two are now preoccupied with other commitments leaving no option for the organisers but to shelve the show.
Looks like all Sallu and Katrina fans will have to wait a wee longer to see them together on the stage again!

Salman Khan takes off to UK to shoot for Kick

Bollywood Hungama News Network:
Mumbai, Wed Aug 07 2013, 15:53 hrs

This is not quite the festive season that the Khan family looks forward to each year. This year Eid is a solemn occasion in Salman Khan's family. For one, the 11-year old road accident case against Salman has been freshly opened for a re-trial. As if that wasn't enough, Salman Khan's visa for shooting Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick has been denied to him.

Now above these setbacks, we hear the family patriarch Salim Khan will be going through a cataract operation during Eid. Says a friend of the family, "It isn't an easy time for the family. But Salim Saab is smiling right through the setbacks. He has been laughing and joking and telling all his friends not to take life too seriously."

In the meanwhile, a breather comes to the Khan family with Salman's travel issue being cleared up. Says a family friend, "It was never a visa issue as reported in the press. Salman Khan was supposed to get a letter from the Rajasthan police allowing him to work outside the country. That got delayed."

Salman leaves for the UK this week.

Revealed: Salman Khan not to get R 5 cr for Bigg Boss, click to know his real fees

Recently, there were rumors that superstar Salman Khan will be carrying home Rs. 5 crore for every episode of Bigg Boss 7. However, reliable sources close to the project have denied this amount and called it, “impractical unrealistic and impossible.”

The sources placed Salman’s newly-negotiated fee to host Bigg Boss Season 7 closer to Rs. 3 Crores per episode.

Says the source, “Salman’s fee is between 2.5 crores and 3 crores per episode. His total fees is around Rs. 45 crore for 20 days of work. Akshay Kumar had got Rs. 1 crore per episode for Master Chef, which was a record of sorts. Ageee, Salman is a bigger star than Akshay. But I don’t think the figure of Rs. 5 crore for Salman makes any sense. This is someone’s flight of fantasy.”

The bigger question is that who is responsible for flaunting such unrealistic figures? This is not the first time that a superstar’s television deal has been blown out of all financial proportions.

A highly-placed source from the television industry says, “These highly exaggerated fees are ways to show that the superstar is doing television only because it has been made worth his while. Such absurd figures are not to be taken seriously.”

Salman Khan not given UK visa

MUMBAI: Actor Salman Khan, who is scheduled to shoot in the UK for his upcoming film `Kick', has not been given visa.

His father, Salim Khan, said the visa was denied because some papers related to the court cases against him relating to alleged hunting chinkara and blackbuck in Rajasthan during the shoot of `Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998 did not reach here in time.

Salman was convicted in two cases and was handed sentence of five years in one case and a year in the other. He has appealed in the High Court against both the sentences.

"The visa was denied to him because some papers from Jodhpur were not there...the papers had not come. All this has happened because of technical glitch," Salim Khan told PTI.

He will again apply for the visa next week, Khan said. The actor is also being tried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in a hit-and-run case in Mumbai.

Salman Khan To Produce Punjabi Film Jatt & Juliet Hindi Remake

Salman Khan co-produced ‘Chillar Party’ two years ago, and everything has been quiet on that front since then. But it looks like he has finally begun putting his production plans in action.

It is already well knows that Salman Khan is producing the vehicle for the debuts of Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. The film is a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 Jackie Shroff-starrer ‘Hero’.
Beside this film, buzz is that Salman Khan wants to remake the Punjabi film ‘Jatt and Juliet’, which has been a huge hit overseas too. This film will be co-produced with Himesh Reshammiya, and will star a newcomer (not Sooraj Pancholi).
His collaboration with Himesh Reshammiya speaks well of their relationship. Even though Himesh started off with Salman Khan in 1998′s ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’, their relationship soured. Eventually, they let bygones be bygones and Himesh Reshammiya even composed the music for Salman Khan’s 2011 film ‘Bodyguard’.
The third film that Salman Khan will be producing will be directed by Puneet Issar, who directed Salman Khan previously in ‘Garv: Pride And Honour’. The good news for Salman Khan fans here is that the superstar himself may act in this film. The highlight of the film is, reportedly, its action scenes.
Both the films with Himesh Reshammiya and Puneet Issar will shoot in 2014. Meanwhile, the remake of ‘Hero’, which has tentatively been titled ‘The Hero’, will go on floors in November this year.

Rishi Kapoor inspired by Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey

Post the success of Dabangg (2010), Salman Khan was called Chulbul Pandey, his character in the film. And although director Abhinav Singh Kashyap couldn’t take forward the inspector’s antics further (after an alleged fallout with Salman and Arbaaz Khan), we’ve come to know that he has resurrected Chulbul in his next, Besharam. The film has Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

“Not many are aware that Rishiji’s (Kapoor) character is called Chulbul. And like Salman, he is an innately funny policeman. In fact, Neetuji (Kapoor) plays a female police officer called Bulbul,” informs a source from the sets. “And their comic timing is simply superb.”

And contrary to popular perception, the Kapoors won’t be seen as Ranbir’s parents in the film. “They are portraying Haryanvi cops. While Neetuji’s character is loud, aggressive and corrupt, Rishiji is her soft-spoken counterpart. And since Chulbul became so popular among fans, it was Abhinav’s idea to bring him back,” adds the insider.

Despite repeated attempts, Abhinav, who wrapped up the Mumbai schedule a couple of days ago, couldn’t be reached for a comment.
